International Youth Day, which is celebrated every year on August 12, preserves its meaning by adhering to the principles of peace among all young people, preserving the principles of mutual respect despite all differences, and minimizing the discrimination between peoples from the past to the present and replacing it with the ideal of understanding. International Youth Day emerged as a necessity after analyzing the ties and formations between the societies of importance. Between 1965 and 1975, in Europe, the General Assembly and the Economic and Social Council worked together in this area, emphasizing 3 main concepts throughout the process. These are Participation, Development and Peace.International Youth Day opinon was put forward by young people who gathered for United Nations System World Youth Forum in Austria, Vienna in 1991. In December 2009, General Assembly accepted the decision that declared the 12 August 2010 is International Youth Year and also they called to celebrate this great day the NGOs, civil societies, international governments, persons and also communities. International Youth Day is celebrated with enthusiasm all over the world since these years. this law was not only interesting with the demographic situations around the world but also, they focused on it’s a large category that the topic was disabled youngs, youth in rural and urban areas, young women and also preparing special precautionary recommendations for needs of them for entire young people of the world. Every year on August 12th, youth problems attracted attention in international society just like today and this issue is supported with increasing youth potential works. Looking ahead, we can noticed that Security Council attracted attention some topics of these such as “Youth, Peace Building, Conflict Resolution, Security, fighting against extremism, needs to youth peace builders afterwards, young people are positioned in these areas.
To sum up, THAT’S YOUR DAY! All young people around the world should take an action, especially today to improve the field, to proclaim International Youth Day in the whole world. This topic should be discussed, disseminated and celebrated in many areas.
