  1. My Girl

My Girl is a 1991 American comedy-drama film directed by Howard Zieff and written by Laurice Elehwany.  Vada lives in a grim world for such a plucky little girl. Her mother died two days after she was born. Her father runs a funeral home. The embalming takes place in the basement. Her grandmother has Alzheimer’s and is wrapped in a deep silence, except for the times when she starts singing the hit songs of 40 years ago.  No wonder Vada is a hypochondriac who is always running off to the family doctor. And yet in other ways Vada is fairly normal. She has a crush on the teacher who lives down the street. She goes biking with her best pal, Thomas J., and they talk about the meaning of life.

  1. Love Rosie

Alex and Rosie have been best friends for almost as long as they can remember. On Rosie’s 18th birthday party Alex kisses Rosie, who is drunk, and realises that he has romantic feelings for her. However, the day after her 18th birthday, Rosie is upset about having got drunk, and tells Alex that she wishes the night had never happened. Alex interprets this as Rosie just wanting to be friends. The film is full of interesting moments and the end is the most romantic. Finally, Rosie makes her dream come true from her own hotel. Alex is the second guest and tells Rosie, on arrival, that he divorced his wife and now he is free. He tells him of a recurrent dream he had about the two who are together and they share a kiss.
